“The Séance of Hong Kong Type” is a historical narrative about “Hong Kong Type” told in the form of a spiritual séance, where the “type spirit” recounts the story of “Hong Kong Type” to the novel's protagonist, Lai Shan-fai. “Six Records of Rebirth” is a story of unrequited love between a young Dai Fook (Dai Fuk-sang) and a young Lai Hing-yi, set between 1842 and 1873. Dai Fook studied at Ying Wa College in Hong Kong and later joined the college's printing house as a typesetter, witnessing the development of “Hong Kong Type.” “Lai Shan-fai's Testament” is a contemporary story set between July 2019 and December 2020. The female protagonist, Lai Shan-fai, attempts suicide and falls into a spiritual dilemma. By assisting in the preparation of the “Hong Kong Type” exhibition, she reconstructs her family story and embarks on a spiritual journey of self-discovery.
