The three-volume "Toward a Post-Communist China: Eight Essays on Transition" integrates academic research with a concern for reality, combining institutional analysis with current affairs commentary. It looks back at the origins of China's current "reverse transition," analyzes the characteristics of the "Xi Jinping New Era," forecasts China's political and economic prospects, and proposes strategic thinking on China's major political transformation.

The third volume includes three sections:

Section Six, On Political Transition: Structured around "Civilian Change Triggers Official Change," "Revisiting Civilian and Official Change," and "A Third Discussion on Civilian and Official Change," this section explores the course and dilemmas of China's political reform from the post-Mao era to today, and outlines a realistic path for China's political transition. The latter half contributes new thinking on the current situation and strategy for China's political transition, deeply exploring how to resist in the new totalitarian era, how to seek a "breakthrough," and how to push China toward a political future without the Communist Party.

Section Seven, On Historical Experience: Arranged in historical order by theme, this section covers macro issues such as nationalism and grand unification. It offers new analytical perspectives on historical events like the Xinhai Revolution and the May Fourth Movement from the viewpoint of democratic consolidation, reveals the violent nature and autocratic code of the CCP, and provides insights into social change born from reflections on elders such as Wang Ruoshui, Liu Binyan, Yu Ying-shih, and Bao Tong.

Section Eight, On Cultural Reconstruction: This section emphasizes the importance of people's cognition for China's transition and the necessity of improving cognitive abilities for transformation. It includes a small attempt to launch a "New Encyclopedia" movement in the Chinese world, a systematic study of the CCP's "brainwashing" strategy, and finally proposes a brand-new approach to promote China's transition. It also envisions a blueprint for the sublimation of the Chinese cultural community in a global universal era, which means breaking away from "sub-exile," cultivating a free spiritual homeland for Chinese people globally, building a "diaspora nation," and giving back to the Chinese nation.
