中国印刷史研究

The invention of printing is a major contribution of China to human civilization. Based on previous research, this book focuses on three key fundamental issues in the history of ancient Chinese printing development, which are also major and difficult problems in this research field. The first part provides a reasonable explanation for the causes and time of the invention of printing, combining specific socio-cultural conditions. The second part deeply examines whether a large number of poetry collections by Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi were printed using woodblock printing during the Yuanhe reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty. The research points out that the entry of printing from the folk culture level into the upper-class elite culture occurred between the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties period. The third part focuses on the issue of bronze movable type in movable type printing.
