Wong Siu-lun

Board member of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong, Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Research Centre for Contemporary Chinese Culture, Institute of Chinese Culture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Honorary Professor at the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (Asian Studies Centre), The University of Hong Kong, etc. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, respectively, and then went to the University of Oxford in the UK, where he received his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. He once served as the director of the Asian Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong. In addition to Chinese family businesses, his main research areas include entrepreneurship, business networks, Chinese social culture, immigration phenomena, Hong Kong social surveys and analysis, and the development of Chinese sociology.
