This collection features over a hundred poems by Poon Kwok-ling from 1994 to 2013, representing the rings of his poetic growth, yet existing beyond specific years. The poems are arranged in reverse chronological order, like a backward glance, witnessing the fragments of poetry unfold into a river of lifeblood, leading back to the original shore, or to an eternal separation. A thematic index is included at the end, offering an alternative way to read. Youhu, a recurring character name in Poon Kwok-ling's novels, occasionally becomes his pen name in poetry. Crossing the boundary from fiction to poetry, the fictional returns to its true self, becoming a writer, a melancholic, a wanderer, a mourner of time, an ardent lover, a disillusioned one – a textual self-portrait.
