Caravaggio, a pioneer of Baroque art, led a revolutionary and dramatic life. He believed in chivalry and had a heroic spirit. However, this sense of justice caused him to live a life of constant upheaval, with exile becoming an inescapable fate. Despite this, he was not defeated by his dark destiny. He remained true to himself, respected nature, and did not adhere to institutional norms. With his keen observation skills, he depicted the characters in his paintings, excelling at using light and shadow to create a three-dimensional sense of space, filling his works with dramatic effects. He illuminated the path for artistic development at the time and became a role model for future artists. The author visited major museums, art galleries, and libraries around the world, meticulously researching historical facts from a mountain of資料 and organizing the historical context. With literary flair and sincere, unpretentious language, this book presents a moving biography of the artist. Caravaggio's life and deeds come vividly to life through the author's engaging descriptions, as if one were traveling through time to experience Caravaggio's artistic world.
