出梁庄记

In 2012, following "China in Liang Village," Liang Hong extended her gaze from her hometown village to the people of Liang Village scattered across the country. She visited numerous cities, tracking over a hundred relatives and fellow villagers who had migrated for work, documenting their migration, struggles, and silence on the urban fringes.
"Leaving Liang Village" is more than just a record of the Liang villagers' labor. In Liang Hong's writing, there's Brother Qing, trapped in rented rooms and construction sites; Liang Lei, seeking a way out in Shenzhen; and Qiaoyu, reminiscing about a small town whose name she's forgotten. In the cramped dwellings, compressed souls still flicker with the light of life amidst laughter, shame, and stubbornness.
This book also offers a cross-section of an era, revealing the tearing apart between rural and urban, tradition and modernity, under the wave of modernization, and showcasing the dignity and sorrow of forgotten people.
