This book is Li Juan's representative work in the "Altay" series. The book is divided into two parts. The first part, "In Memory" (2007-2009), records the fragmented and resilient scenes of life in Kawutu and Akkala Village; the second part, "In the Corner" (2002-2006), describes in an original ecological style the daily lives of Li Juan, her mother, and her elderly grandmother as they migrated with nomads: opening a general store, working as a small tailor, helping passing herdsmen sew clothes, and collecting wild fungus deep in the mountains; the bulging tents on the Sayhengbulak grassland in spring, the bustling and grand Aken a cappella singing gatherings on the summer pastures, and the solid, long snowy roads after winter... Gobi, grasslands, forests, snow mountains, horses, and herdsmen, the delicate and bright writing reveals the profound and rich survival landscape of nomadic peoples in the border regions.
