The Last Sky: Studies in the History of Taiwanese Political Thought

For over four hundred years, Taiwan has experienced different stages of rule and a mix of languages. For Taiwanese people, the process of forming a political subject has been not only long and complex, but also continues to this day. Wu Rih-xin spent thirty years researching the pursuit of subjectivity by Taiwanese people over the past century. Through studying Lian Wenqing, Shi Ming, Taiwan magazine, Long Yingzong, Huang Deshi, Wang Changxiong, Zhong Lihe, Ye Shengji, Cai Ruey-yueh, Lek-sin Watan (Lin Ruey-chang), Uyongʉ Yatauyungana (Kao Yi-sheng), Liao Wen-kuei, Liao Wen-yi, Tsai Pei-huo, Free China magazine, Peng Ming-min and Hsieh Tsung-min's Declaration of Self-Salvation, and Wu Cho-liu's novels, among others, he completed this volume of research on the history of Taiwanese political thought.
