The June Fourth Movement, like the May Fourth Movement, embodied the courage and aspirations of the Chinese people, leaving an indelible mark on human history.

The compilation and publication of "The June Fourth Poetry Collection" aims to promote the spirit of June Fourth and inherit its culture, further eradicating the authoritarian system still lingering in Chinese society, and realizing the human rights ideals of democracy, freedom, equality, and fraternity. This book has been repeatedly banned by the Chinese government and is the only literary historical work related to June Fourth collected by the U.S. Library of Congress and the National Library of Australia.

"The June Fourth Poetry Collection" is divided into five chapters. It includes works and June Fourth songs by victims, democrats at home and abroad, civilians, and international friends, recounting history and demonstrating how the June Fourth Movement evolved into a cultural movement.

The editor hopes that the publication of this poetry collection will enable people to remember history, look to the future, and contribute their light and warmth to the early entry of the Chinese nation into a modernized and advanced civilization.
