After the publication of "A Draft History of the Cultural Revolution in Yunnan," this book is another local history monograph on the Cultural Revolution, which the author spent seven years completing. The entire book combines history and commentary, with both narration and evaluation, making it readable and memorable. It is no exaggeration to say that this book is a comprehensive, complete, and rigorously argued historical narrative of the Sichuan region. It will become a benchmark for writing local histories of the Cultural Revolution, and it is unlikely that anything superior will emerge within fifty years.
