三月的季風書園，把舞台交給了那些選擇不沉默的人。他們有的用小說寫香港的消逝，有的用腳步丈量中國新聞自由的邊界，有的在異鄉用詩歌對抗遺忘。三月七場活動，橫跨文學、新聞、藝術史、環境法律與維吾爾文化——但說到底，探問的都是同一件事：在這個時代，一個人還可以做什麼、說什麼、記住什麼。
In March, JF Salon gives the stage to those who chose not to stay silent. Across literature, journalism, art history, environmental law, and Uyghur cultural memory, this month's conversations ask what it means — and what it costs — to bear witness, to imagine otherwise, and to hold on to what others would erase.

City Like Water
Your childhood city has vanished, as if sunk beneath the sea. Your mother is turned to stone during a protest, your father disappears into a government-issued TV, and your sister flies away in her school uniform. As police reshape your neighborhood into an unrecognizable labyrinth, you are left to ask: where do you belong?
香港小說家謝曉虹的作品《鷹頭貓與音樂箱女孩》（英譯版 Owlish）2023年在英美出版後，獲《紐約時報》、《衛報》等重量級媒體讚譽，入選多個年度書單。有評論者說，這是一本「用童話語言寫成的政治寓言」。她帶來季風書園的最新作品《City Like Water》是一部迷離、夢魘般卻極具詩意的小說，以一座逐漸消失的城市為隱喻，描寫成長中的孤獨、失序與失去。當家人、鄰里與記憶接連消散，現實與幻象交錯，主角在崩解的世界中努力尋找自身的位置。這是一則來自「正在下沉的城市」的訊息瓶——指向暴力、監控與變形的日常，也映照著我們所身處的世界。這場對談，我們想聽她聊聊，那些她「說不出口」的話，是怎麼找到出路的。
About the Speaker
Dorothy Tse 謝曉虹 is a Hong Kong writer. Her novel Owlish was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle’s Gregg Barrios Prize, and her story collection Snow and Shadow was longlisted for the Best Translated Book Award. A cofounder of Fleurs des Lettres, she has received major literary awards in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Moderator: Helon Habila was born in Nigeria. He is a Professor of Creative Writing at George Mason University. He is the author of four novels: Waiting for an Angel (2002), Measuring Time (2007), and Oil on Water (2010), and Travelers (2019).

社交媒體女權主義批判
社交媒體讓女權議題突破地域與現實條件的限制，迅速進入公眾視野，也讓更多普通人得以發聲與參與討論。然而，「社交媒體女權主義」並不等同於現實中的女權運動。它高度依賴平台機制與傳播邏輯，往往受情緒與熱點驅動，容易走向碎片化，難以轉化為持續而有組織的社會行動，甚至可能加劇對立、簡化複雜議題。作為曾推動微博女權行動的重要參與者，講者將回顧社交媒體如何改變女權的表達方式與行動路徑：它帶來了哪些前所未有的機會？又潛藏著怎樣的限制與風險？
李思磐長期關注性別平等與媒體自由，是中國女性主義公共討論中少有的清醒聲音。兩位都是那種「知道代價還是要說」的人。這場對談不是要講什麼宏大敘事，更想聊的是：作為女性，作為記者，在中國做記錄這件事，到底是什麼感受？空間在收窄，人還能做什麼？
江雪在中國新聞業的「黃金時代」入行，一路做到《華商報》首席記者、評論部主任，獲央視評選為「全國八大風云記者」之一。但她更為人所知的，或許是後來那些她選擇留下的記錄——帳號被封了重開，再封再開，一篇篇文章在審查到來之前被轉發到全網。2022年西安封城期間，她在城裡待了整整十天，寫下《長安十日》，那篇文章在被封禁之前，早已無數次被人截圖、轉存。
關於講者
李思磐，資深媒體人、性別平等倡議者，長期致力於推動女性議題的公共討論，現旅居海外持續從事寫作與倡議工作。
江雪，資深調查記者，曾任《華商報》首席記者、評論部主任及財新傳媒調查記者。2015年起成為獨立媒體人，長期記錄中國基層社會、維權運動與公民聲音。曾獲南方周末年度傳媒公共服務獎，2003年央視「全國八大風云記者」稱號。

The Death of Marat, Reborn: Art and Revolution
In Thomas latest book, Profession Crow revisits Jacques-Louis David’s The Death of Marat to ask how and why it endures as an emblem of revolutionary feeling. Tracing the image from 1793 to the 1960s protest cultures and beyond, he shows how Marat became a talisman of political resistance. Professor Dumbadze will join as panel discussant, opening a wider conversation on political images and public memory.
從六零年代的新前衛運動，到九零年代的文化戰爭，藝術與政治之間的關係從未真正切割乾淨。這場講座，藝術史學者 Thomas Crow 將帶我們重新審視一段被反覆援引卻鮮少被深究的歷史：當藝術走入大眾文化、擁抱商品邏輯，它失去了什麼？又在什麼意義上，保留了批判的可能？Thomas Crow 是當代最重要的藝術史學者之一，他的研究向來不滿足於把藝術和社會「平行」放置，而是追問兩者真正的糾纏方式。對於關心當代藝術、視覺文化或政治美學的朋友，這場對談值得期待。
About the Speaker & Moderator
Thomas Crow is the Rosalie Solow Professor Emeritus of Modern Art at New York University's Institute of Fine Arts. His books include Modern Art in the Common Culture, The Rise of the Sixties, and No Idols: The Missing Theology of Art. Crow is known for connecting rigorous visual analysis with the social and political conditions in which art is made and received — moving between close reading and broad historical sweep with unusual fluency.
Moderator Alexander Dumbadze is an Associate Professor of Art History at George Washington University. His most recent book is Jack Goldstein: All Day Night Sky. He is also the author of Bas Jan Ader: Death Is Elsewhere.
Angel Xiang is a third-year J.D. candidate at GW Law and an emerging art law scholar and cultural commentator. A former student of Professor Thomas Crow, she works at the intersection of modern art and legal frameworks.

Indigenous Taiwan & Syaman Rapongan's Eyes of the Sky
To understand Taiwan, one must look to its Indigenous peoples. A Tao writer from Orchid Island, Syaman Rapongan is a chronicler of his community’s oceanic culture and their stories of survival and perseverance in the face of Han-Taiwanese colonialism. This new translation offers a rare Indigenous perspective on the modern world. No matter one's background, this Pacific story will resonate with anyone who has ever wondered about their place in a rapidly changing world.
說到台灣，很多人第一反應是政治、半導體、或者珍珠奶茶。但台灣還有另一個故事，一個更古老、也更少被聽見的故事——屬於島嶼原住民的故事。蘭嶼達悟族作家夏曼・藍波安，從太平洋上的一座小島出發，用文字記錄了一個民族與海洋、與漢人殖民主義共存的漫長歷程。他的新譯本《天空的眼睛》如今終於讓英語讀者有機會走進這個世界。
這不只是一個關於台灣原住民的故事。它問的是每個人都曾面對的問題：在一個快速變動的世界裡，你要如何找到自己的位置？要保留什麼，又要放棄什麼？無論你來自哪裡，這個來自太平洋小島的聲音，都會讓你感到某種共鳴。
About the Speaker & Moderator
Kyle Shernuk is Assistant Professor of Modern Chinese Literature and Culture at Georgetown University. His research focuses on disempowered and minoritized populations, with recent work on ethnicity, Indigeneity, queerness, and language in global Chinese communities. He is also an active translator and editor of the Cambria Sinophone Translation Series.
Lily Wong is Associate Professor in the departments of Literature and Critical Race, Gender & Culture Studies at American University. Her research focuses on the politics of affective labor, racial capitalism, minor-transnational coalitional movements, and media formations of transpacific Chinese, Sinophone, and Asian American communities.

Chinese Global Environmentalism
We find ourselves in a remarkable moment in global environmental governance. While China champions green development, the U.S. has retreated from the Paris Agreement and renewable energy. Prof. Alex Wang joins us to discuss his book, exploring how China promotes its "developmental environmentalism" through green ideology, diplomacy, and economic statecraft. He will examine case studies ranging from green investments in Chile and Kenya to hydropower in Southeast Asia, highlighting China’s growing dominance in clean technology and its pivotal role in global climate negotiations.
一個有趣的歷史時刻正在眼前展開：中國高舉綠色發展的旗幟，積極參與全球氣候治理；而美國在川普政府下退出了巴黎協定，轉而反對再生能源與電動車的發展。世界上最大的發展中國家，正在某種意義上，接過了西方曾經扮演的環保領導角色。

About the Speaker
Alex Wang is Professor of Law at UCLA School of Law and the Walter & Shirley Wang Endowed Chair in US-China Relations and Communications. He is also faculty co-director of UCLA's Emmett Institute on Climate Change & the Environment. His research focuses on US-China relations and the interaction of environmental law and governance institutions in China, the United States, and other countries. His forthcoming book Chinese Global Environmentalism examines how China has come to embrace green development and promote its model of developmental environmentalism through ideology, diplomacy, economic statecraft, and international development cooperation.
【不明白播客 季風現場】文革：一代人的失落與一個人的覺醒 
2026年，是文革爆發60週年，也是文革結束50週年。今天，我們如何回望那一段瘋狂而沉重的歷史？聆聽親歷者的講述，以及當事人從靈魂深處開啟的真誠反思，或許是一種重要而必要的方式。
《畫說我的一生》一書作者劉海鷗，曾在青少年時期親歷文革。不明白播客主持人袁莉將與劉海鷗現場對談，請她分享自己如何一度以「革命者」自居，卻最終發現自己其實只是「革命對象」的荒謬經驗，以及由此開啟的生命覺醒旅程。
中國歷史上那些關鍵的撕裂時刻——大饑荒、文革、六四——在官方敘事裡要麼消失，要麼被翻轉成另一個模樣。但記憶不只是被壓制的問題，更深的困境在於：當一代人沒有辦法繼承上一代人的傷痛與追問，思想的傳遞本身就斷了。
關於講者
劉海鷗，筆名凌之。1988年赴澳大利亞馬克立大學攻讀博士研究生，後因病輟學。九〇年代初開始寫作，主要作品包括長篇紀實文學《半壁家園》、《海鷗南飛》、《夕出陽關》，姐妹合集《我們的田野》，評論集《撿回歷史的碎片》，以及《劉海鷗小說選》等。

Uyghur Poems, Imprisoned Souls, and the Act of Resistance
In the face of the systemic efforts to silence the Uyghur people, the written word becomes a profound act of resistance. Aziz Isa Elkun 從新疆出走，在倫敦生活已超過二十年。他的母親，從2017年起就再也沒有接過他的電話——不是不想接，而是不敢，因為接聽一個海外電話，本身就可能成為被帶走的理由。他把這些都寫進了詩裡。
作為詩人，他編輯了企鵝藍燈書屋出版的《維吾爾詩選》，把兩千年的詩歌傳統介紹給英語世界；2025年剛出版的新書《被囚禁的靈魂》，收錄了25位目前仍身陷囹圄的維吾爾詩人作品——這不只是文學工程，更是一種緊迫的搶救：在文化被系統性抹除之前，留住那些聲音。這場對談，想聊的不只是維吾爾的苦難，更是：語言和詩歌，在最極端的壓迫下，到底能做到什麼？
About the Speaker
Aziz Isa Elkun is a Uyghur poet, writer, translator, and researcher at SOAS University of London. He has lived in London since 2001, having fled political persecution in Xinjiang. Since April 2025, he has served as President of the Uyghur PEN Centre. He edited Uyghur Poems (Everyman's Library / Penguin Random House, 2023) and most recently published Imprisoned Souls: Poems of Uyghur Prisoners in China (Hertfordshire Press, November 2025), gathering the work of twenty-five poets currently detained in Chinese prisons. His sister was held in an internment camp for over a year; he has been unable to contact his mother since 2017.
